Summer School Committee Work Summer School Committees began meeting October 2013 thru late December 2013 Committee members were comprised of administrators, teachers, and counselors Elementary School Cohort Middle School Cohort High School Cohort 3

Summer School Committee Work Reviewed board policy guidelines Visited the districts vision, mission, and value statements Assured all proposals costs would be met through the state foundation formula Used a continuous improvement model PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) to guide recommendations 4

Recommendations Elementary/Middle School Partner with Newton Alliance to provide a comprehensive summer school program This partnership will provide PreK-8 students with transportation and a full day summer school program called Summer Journey High School Continue with high school model providing credit recovery and virtual blended classes in both buildings 7
