Summer School Committee Work Summer School Committees began meeting October 2013 thru late December 2013 Committee members were comprised of administrators, teachers, and counselors Elementary School Cohort Middle School Cohort High School Cohort 3

Summer School Committee Work Reviewed board policy guidelines Visited the districts vision, mission, and value statements Assured all proposals costs would be met through the state foundation formula Used a continuous improvement model PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) to guide recommendations 4

Summer School Committee Work Looked at the historical model of summer school 2012 & 2013 Parent/Student/Teacher surveys were reviewed Top Themes: Need for transportation Need for full day programming Researched successful summer school models Created Vision Statements for each summer school model 5
