AUTHOR’S PURPOSE

AUTHOR’S PURPOSE Authors write with many different purposes in mind. For example: People who write political speeches are trying to persuade an audience to believe in or do something. People who write articles in magazines often want to inform their readers. People who write personal narratives may want to reveal a truth about life or share an experience.

AUTHOR’S PURPOSE People who write fiction may want to entertain. People who write letters to the editor may want to state an opinion about a controversial topic.
