Key information John a macdonald was born on January 11 1815 and died June 6 1891 He was the first prime minister of Canada through (1867-1873, 1878-1891). He had a political career that spanned for almost half a century. In 1864 when no party proved capable for governing for long, Macdonald agreed to a proposal from his political rival, George Brown. The parties unite in a Great Coalition, to seek federation and political reform.

The conservative party (1867-1942) John a macdonald took part in the conservative party. The conservate party in Canada was a federal political party. John a macdonald won the 1993 federal election where he beat his political rivals George Brown and Andrew Scheer. He nearly beat Brian Mulorney in the 1979 federal election wich was the last one for him.
