Martin Luther King JR. Born at noon on January 15, 1929. Graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Admitted to Morehouse collage at age 15.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND When was this text written? April 16 1963. Why was it written? To answer criticism about his ideas. What was going on in history when this text was written? Civil Rights Movements.

Summary Martin Luther King JR. wrote the letter to answer criticism about segregation. The letter was about dealing with racial segregation in the courts not the streets. They said he caused to much trouble about wanting to take the situation to court. He confessed he was disappointed with the whites because they were still segregating. He treated blacks and whites equal while others judged .

RELEVANCE This is important to our nations history because it was part of the Civil Rights Movement and he tried really hard to get rights equal for everybody. Now everyone is treated equally no matter there race.
