What is an observation? An observation is something you notice that other people agree on.

What is a question? Does the class like pink better than blue? A question is something we want to find out Does the class like pink better than blue?

What is a hypothesis? A hypothesis is a scientific explanation (reason) for the observation I think…………because If……then I think that more people in this class like the color pink because there are more girls in this class.

What is an experiment? An experiment is a way to test your hypothesis (what you think explains your observation). You must have an independent variable- The thing that is changed on purpose You must have a dependent variable- The thing that responds to what was changed on purpose
