Consumer awareness and desire for efficiency savings is high More than 40% of U.S. households knowingly purchased an ENERGY STAR-labeled product in the past year. Of these purchasers: About 75% report the label as influential in their purchasing decision. About 80% report they are likely to recommend products that have earned the ENERGY STAR to friends. –29% of these households reported they were "extremely" likely to recommend ENERGY STAR-labeled products. 5 ENERGY STAR Qualified Lighting Products ENERGY STAR Qualified Light Bulbs ENERGY STAR Qualified Light Fixtures Typically purchased to replace incandescent bulbs in existing non-qualified light fixtures Typically purchased as a complete new fixture that includes the CFL bulb

GU24 Lamp Base Similar to a screw-base CFL, but instead of a screw base the ballast connects to the GU24 base with pins Standardized for interchangeability between manufacturers Allows permanent energy savings in an easily integrated design Eliminates the need for separate ballasts/lamps ENERGY STAR qualified residential light fixtures primarily use the GU24 Twist and Lock base

GU24 Base Line voltage (self-ballasted in base) 2-Pin Base Used with remote magnetic ballast Various pin bases, like the ones shown below, can be used in numerous ENERGY STAR qualified fixtures GU24 technology helps standardize the CFL bases Why is the GU24 Lamp Base Important? 4-Pin Base Used with remote magnetic ballast

ENERGY STAR light fixtures manufactured today use either a 1-piece or 2-piece GU24 design. 4-Pin Lamp GU24 Ballast GU24 Socket (Installed in fixture) Integral Lamp and Ballast GU24 Socket (Installed in fixture) 2-piece design 1-piece design GU24: Used in Decorative Light Fixture Designs

Self-ballasted, One-piece advantages: Easy, one unit replacement when either the light bulb or ballast fails - Eliminates confusion when purchasing replacement bulbs Allows easy change to different wattage and different colors Because ballast and light bulb are integral, the overall length is shorter, allowing better fit in a variety of fixtures (also available in shorter squat lamps ) Ballast is integral to the light bulb GU24 Socket (Installed in fixture) GU24 Integrated One-Piece Bulb

Modular, 2-piece advantages: Many replacement 4-pin light bulbs available Greater selection of color temperatures If one of the components fail, allows replacement of the failed component onlyeliminating waste Preferred by some commercial and hospitality buyers GU24 Modular 2-Piece Design

Create Business Value –More than 80 percent of American households: Recognize the ENERGY STAR label. Have a high or general understanding of the ENERGY STAR label. –Differentiate your organization: Arm your staff with knowledge Provide your customers products of choice Create Social Value –Decelerate climate change by preventing greenhouse gas emissions by reducing energy use with ENERGY STAR qualified products –Lower energy bills for consumers and businesses –Boost your brands environmental image ENERGY STAR As Your Sales Partner

GU24 Overview ENERGY STAR: The government-backed program that helps consumers identify energy-efficient products.
