Solve by Graphing Worksheet Work in pairs to complete the Investigation. You will have 30 minutes to complete this before we go over it.

Solving Systems by Graphing

Review: The solution to a system of linear equations is the point where the two lines intersect.

Copy and Complete the table for the graphs of two linear equations.

Practice – Solve the system by graphing 1) y = 2x + 6 y = 4x + 4 Graphing calculator screen shots on next slide

Graphing Calculator

2. Solve by graphing (use your calculator!!!) y – 3x = 10 y = 3x – 4 Hopefully students will notice that the lines have the same slope and not have to graph them to see the solution.

3) Solve by graphing (use your calculator!!!) 3x – 2y = 4 y = -2x + 5

4) Solve by graphing (use your calculator!!!) -4x + y = 3 x + y = -2

5) 6) 2x – y = 1 4x – 2y = 2 y = 2x – 3 -4x + 2y = -6
