Event Beneficiary 3 For more information about Special Olympics Florida, visit Special Olympics Florida is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports.

Volunteer Information 4 Review your schedule Volunteer Confirmation letters are mailed prior to the event. If you do not receive your letter two weeks before your first scheduled shift, please call the Sports Enthusiast Information Line at or us at Your Confirmation letter includes: Your Schedule (start and approximate end time) Important Reminders & Guidelines Directions & Parking Information Your Name tag Print, Sign, and Bring Your Waiver Waivers can be downloaded from the event page under Volunteer Resources at PRIOR TO YOUR SHIFT

Volunteer Information 5 Volunteer Parking: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Athletes and guests will be parking during event hours, please allow yourself 20 to 30 extra minutes to park and walk to your check in area Bring with you: Your Name Tag Completed and Signed Waiver Photo ID Any special dietary needs Appropriate weather gear (jackets, umbrella, etc..) Positive attitude! Volunteer Check In Location: Champion Stadium – Third Baseline: Admission to the Event is NOT free, volunteers will receive an Event Ticket at Check-In each day. For directions, please view map on page 7 Volunteer Check In Process: Report to YOUR GROUP check-in table Present your signed waiver and photo ID at check in After you check in, you will receive the following items: Name Tag plastic badge Event T-Shirt Snack Meal Card ATS Ticket Assignment Card After Check-In: Follow Assignment Card instructions: Change in to your Event T-shirt Redeem your Snack Meal Coupon Report to Volunteer Break Area Report to Assigned Location Be SAFE, have fun and enjoy the experience! DAY OF YOUR SHIFT

Bocce Volunteers positions: Athlete check-in, scorekeeping, escorts, measurer, result runner, general assistant and stagers. Check In Assistants Volunteer positions: Volunteer check-in, apparel distribution and crowd control. Closing Ceremonies/Victory Dance Volunteer positions: Athlete escort, crowd control and general assistant. Cycling Volunteer position: Athlete check-in, course marshals, holder, result runner and general assistance. Healthy Athletes Volunteer positions: Athlete check-in, escort and general assistant. Meals Volunteer position: Athlete assistant and crowd control. Opening Ceremonies / Victory Dance Volunteer position: Athlete escort, general assistant and crowd control.Soccer Volunteer position: Athlete check-in, counters, scorekeeper, timers, escort, result runner and general assistant. Softball & Tennis Throw Volunteer positions: Athlete check-in, ball retriever, result runner, recorder, stager and escort. Track & Field Volunteer positions: Athlete check-in, stager, awards, escort, result runner, recorder and general assistant. Tennis Volunteer positions: Athlete check-in, result runner, escort, counter, scorekeeper, awards and ball retriever. Volleyball Volunteer positions: Team check-in, awards, court marshals, result runner, ball retriever and general assistant. Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities All roles are important! You may be asked to assist with any of the activities listed.

9 SAFETY FIRST! Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Be efficient, practical, and courteous at all times. Keep others informed. No autographs or tips. No smoking in spectator or athlete areas. No alcohol should be consumed leading up to or during your volunteer shift. Have FUN and cheer on the athletes! General Volunteer Guidelines
