Tú or usted refer to the person spoken TO Tú and usted both mean YOU. Tú (informal you - used to address children, family, and friends). usted or Ud. (formal you) Usted is used to show respect…teachers, elderly people…...titles HOLA

Él y ella él (he) ella (she) refer to the person spoken about

Nosotros y nosotras Nosotros (we-masculine) refers to mixed groups or groups of all males. Nosotras (we- feminine) refers to groups of all females Think of it as “I plural”

Ellos y ellas Please make them stop! Ellos (they / masculine) refers to a mixed or all masculine group of people you are talking about. Ellas (they/ feminine) refers to a group of females that you are talking about.

Ustedes (Uds.) Ustedes or Uds. (y’all) used when talking to a group of people Plural YOU

¿YOU? Ustedes is . . . Tú and Usted are both . . . singluar Remember, there are 3 ways to say YOU in español . . . Tú Usted Ustedes HOW DO YOU CHOSE? Ustedes is . . . Tú and Usted are both . . . plural singluar So if YOU does something with at least 1 other person, your only option is ustedes. So all you have to do is decide if it’s formal or informal

Nosotros or Ustedes? I am confused Remember, Nosotros/as is used as “ I plural” So, if I do something with another person . . . Abraham Lincoln and I go to the movies You use NOSOTROS But if YOU and someone else does something . . . You and Abraham Lincoln go to the movies You use USTEDES - (you plural)
