AFRICAN RELIGIOUS MOVEMENTS The DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES offers the Honours course - REL4110F AFRICAN RELIGIOUS MOVEMENTS A/Prof Asonzeh Ukah With the coming of Islam and Christianity in Africa, new religious movements blossomed in the continent. . This course examines some major theories in the history and the sociology of religious movements, and provides a critical investigation of selected case-studies of religious movements within the three dominant religious traditions of Africa, namely, African Indigenous religions, African Christianities and African Islams.
