Daintree Rainforest Deforestation YEAR 5, 2016

Daintree Rainforest Daintree Rainforest is the largest rainforest in Australia. The Daintree covers over 3000 square kilometres in far north Queensland. It is packed with vegetation. People call this place the lungs of the earth. These lungs are being destructed by the same token. We are losing this rainforest rapidly, and we need to make an action.

Deforestation Threats There are two major threats that humankind are causing to the forest when trees are cut down. 1. This logging of trees impacts on the habitats of other creatures that live within the forest. One of the animals that are suffering the most would be the cassowary. The Daintree contains a major population of these spectacular animals. 2. There is also a constancy of building roads straight through the forest. This causes more animals hit by cars.

How can we solve this? Paper is a major cause of trees needing to be cut down. We cannot stop it completely, but use double-sided paper. If everybody did this, that would be half the trees cut down. We can also simply stop making roads in the middle of a forest. It’s not a tourist attraction. What other action could we take to reduce deforestation?
