11.9 ∼ Solids Mrs. vazquez Geometry

g-gmd.1.3 Essential Question: What is the difference between surface area and volume of spheres? Objective: Students will be able to calculate volume and surface area of spheres.

theorems ~ Solids Thm: If two ~ solids have a scale factor of a:b, then corresponding areas have a ratio of a2:b2, & corresponding volumes have a ratio of a3:b3.

Solve Cube C has a SA of 54units2 & cube D has a SA of 150units2. Find the scale factor of C to D. Find the edge length of C & use the scale factor to find the volume of D.
