Working with Files and Folders Dewey Decimal System Working with Files and Folders Animation – Books move to a shelf location (category) A man named Dewey, who once worked in a library, created a system of numbers to put books in order so you can easily find them. It’s called the Dewey Decimal System. Quit SCT100

Working with Files and Folders Call Numbers Working with Files and Folders 000’s 100’s 200’s 300’s 400’s 500’s 600’s 700’s 800’s 900’s 538 621 775 Animation – numbers appear Dewey grouped books into ten areas by subject. Each subject has secret codes or “call numbers” for finding books. You can find a book from its call number. For example, you can find a book with a call number of 538 in the 500’s area. Quit SCT100
