Morning Worship Tuesday 27th November 2018 Carers Rights – Missing Out? Bishop Justus Church of England School

Let the light of Christ shine in our lives Gather The Lord be with you And also with you Let the light of Christ shine in our lives

Receive … we were gentle among you, like a nurse tenderly caring for her own children. So deeply do we care for you that we are determined to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you have become very dear to us. First Letter to the Thessalonians, chapter 2, verses 7 and 8

Engage Each year Carers Rights Day is held to bring organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to. Across the UK today 6.5 million people are carers, supporting a loved one who is older, disabled or seriously ill.

Engage Some discussion ideas … Why do we create laws to decide what rights carers need – isn’t all just common sense? What roles should state or government have in caring for people in need? Activity suggestion … Find our about local carers groups, what they do and what support they need. Video suggestion … Carers UK – in Leeds - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJsQBm_oWuI

Respond Amen God, Thank you that people care And give their time and love To people in need. Help us all to be open and loving to all vulnerable people. Amen

Go out into the world with the light of Christ Let us bless the Lord Thanks be to God Go out into the world with the light of Christ
