5 Receive When I scatter them among the other nations and in foreign countries, they will know that I am the Lord. I will let a few of them survive the war, the famine, and the diseases, so that there among the nations they will realise how disgusting their actions have been and will acknowledge that I am the Lord. From the book of the prophet Ezekiel, chapter 12, verses 15 to 16

6 Engage The Red Cross (and the Red Crescent) is an organisation that provides help for people in need or crisis – whether the crisis be caused by war, disaster, accidents or more day-to–day problems such as ill health. Each year there is an annual celebration of the movements work across the world. During Red Cross Week, people across the UK come together to help raise money for people in crisis. This year the British Red Cross is running the campaign ‘Celebrate the Power of Your Kindness’ during Red Cross Week (6th - 12th May) and you can be part of it.

7 Engage Video suggestion … Some discussion ideas …
Some discussion ideas … Why is the work of the Red Cross so important? If someone was in need, would you help them? What small acts of kindness could you do to help someone in need? Discussion techniques - Go back to the Bible passage ask “How does the theme link with the Bible passage?” Discuss the question in pairs for 30 seconds then invite a response from each pair. Use quick-fire answers e.g. throw a soft bean bag / toy to a student, when they answer they throw it back and you quickly throw to another student. Simplify the question - Invite quick one-word answers, write them on the board, then reflect on the answers – see connections. Activity suggestion … Download a Kindness Calendar from and fill it in with kind acts for the week.

8 Respond Amen Almighty God,
[Reflect for a minute on the worship theme and our engagement …] Almighty God, Help us to realise the importance of our actions, help us to bring happiness and joy in to the lives of those who need it. Show us people this week which we can be kind too. Amen Prayer / reflection technique – Give a summary of the theme and any responses that students may have made, then invite everyone to be still (remind no books open etc – lessen distraction). To pray or reflect on today’s worship. Be quiet for one minute. Then say the prayer …
