Pre-Deploying Your SPYDERCRANE's Outriggers Deployment Lesson KBT 4.2 Welcom to Lesson Topic 4.2. This topic covers how to pre-deploy the outriggers of your 094-, 095-, or 200-Series SPYDERCRANE Micro-Crawler.

Topic Overview and Contents This Lesson Topic (Pre-Deploying the Outriggers) is designed to provide you with an overview of your SPYDERCRANE’s OUTRIGGERS and how they can be DEPLOYED to adjust the DEPLOYMENT FOOTPRINT You will learn about: PRE-DEPLOYMENT and DEPLOYMENT How to PRE-DEPLOY your SPYDERCRANE’s Outriggers It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to read and understand the user manuals included with your SPYDERCRANE and the warning decals posted on it This Lesson Topic covers the 094-, 095- and 200-Series SPYDERCRANE This segment topic covers the procedures for pre-deploying the outriggers of your 094-, 95-, or 200-Series SPYDERCRANE.

Learning Objective(s) The desired learning objective for this Lesson Topic is for each student to… DLO 4.2.1: Define OUTRIGGER PRE-DEPLOYMENT. DLO 4.2.2: Identify the procedural steps for PRE-DEPLOYING the SPYDERCRANE's outriggers. There are only two learning objectives for this lesson topic.

Pre-Deployment Before the Outriggers can be deployed into their working positions, they must be PRE-DEPLOYED PRE-DEPLOYMENT is a manual process that can be accomplished by the operator, alone, in less two minutes The DEPLOYMENT PATTERN and DEPLOYMENT STATE are set at the Pre-Deployment The SPYDERCRANE can be switched off, or left running, for the Pre- Deployment You can begin Pre-Deploying the Outriggers in any order you want     Deploying your SPYDERCRANE is a necessary step before you can use your SPYDERCRANE's crane functions.  Deployment means using the SPYDERCRANE's hydraulic system to extend its outriggers into their working positions: lifting the SPYDERCRANE's crawler tracks off of the ground, leveling the body of the SPYDERCRANE, and creating a stable base for the SPYDERCRANE by maximizing its Deployment Footprint.  Before you can hydraulically DEPLOY your SPYDERCRANE's outriggers, you must manually PRE-DEPLOY them into their working configurations.      In the previous topic, you learned about the various DEPLOYMENT STATES and DEPLOYMENT PATTERNS that you can configure your SPYDERCRANE's outriggers to. In this topic, you will be shown the step-by-step procedure for configuring those outriggers for deployment, or how to pre-deploy them.      This topic focuses on the 095- and 200-Series SPYDERCRANE, but, there are only slight differences in pre-deploying the outriggers of the 094-Series. The pre-deployment procedure can typically be accomplished by a single operator in under 2 MINUTES. Once you have parked your SPYDERCRANE at the lifting site where you want to deploy it, you can begin pre-deploying its outriggers.      You can turn off the SPYDERCRANE's engine for this procedure.

Pre-Deployment Steps: Set the Outrigger Deployment Angle The Deployment Pivot of a URW295, once the two Optimum Angle Indicators are facing each other, re-insert the Pivot Pin to lock the Outrigger to its Optimum Deployment Angle Go to one of the stowed Outriggers, find the Deployment Pivot, and pull the PIVOT PIN With the pin removed, slew the Outrigger until the OPTIMUM ANGLE INDICATOR on the Deployment Pivot is facing the one on the Outrigger Once the Angle Indicators are lined up, re-insert the Pivot Pin into one of the two holes on the Outrigger to lock the Outrigger to the Optimum Deployment Angle A URW095S with Outrigger #3 locked to the Optimum Deployment Angle     This procedure assumes you will be deploying the SPYDERCRANE using the OPTIMUM DEPLOYMENT PATTERN and MAX-EXT DEPLOYMENT STATE. Go to one of the stowed outriggers (it doesn't matter which one), find the DEPLOYMENT PIVOT, and pull the PIVOT PIN. With the Pivot Pin removed, you can pull the outrigger and slew it on its Deployment Pivot. Continue to slew the outrigger until you line up the OPTIMUM ANGLE INDICATOR (the yellow arrow decal) on the Deployment Pivot lines up the Optimum Angle Indicator on the outrigger.  Insert the Pivot Pin to lock-in the Deployment Angle.  The UPPER OUTRIGGER BASE has two holes to pass the Pivot Pin; once you have lined up the indicators, if the pin what go through one hole, try the other one.

Pre-Deployment Steps: Set the Knee Go to the Outrigger Knee and unclip and pull the OUTRIGGER KNEE PIN to release the Knee With the pin removed, rotate the Lower Outrigger at the Knee until the pin-hole at the top of the Lower Outrigger lines up with the MAX-EXT hole at the end of the Upper Outrigger The GAS PISTON will support the weight of the Lower Outrigger and push the it to its rotation limit; you might need to push down on the Lower Outrigger to get it to line up Re-insert the Outrigger Knee Pin and safety-clip it; it does not matter if the safety clip lanyard wraps over the top of the Outrigger, or under A URW095S with the Knee of Outrigger #3 set to MAX-EXT The Outrigger Knee has THREE positions: STOW, NOT-MAX-EXT, and MAX-EXT     Once you have locked in the Deployment Angle, you can extend and set the Outrigger Knee.  Un-clip and pull the OUTRIGGER KNEE PIN out of the STOWED HOLE to release the Outrigger Knee. Pull the LOWER OUTRIGGER by its handle to rotate the Outrigger Knee until the hole in the Lower Outrigger lines up with the MAX-EXT HOLE on the Upper Outrigger.  Insert and safety-clip the Outrigger Knee Pin through the MAX-EXT Hole to lock the Outrigger Knee into its MAX-EXT position. The GAS PISTON connecting the Upper and Lower Outriggers is there to help support the weight of the Lower Outrigger when you rotate it into place.

Pre-Deployment Steps: Set the Ankle Extension Go to the Outrigger Ankle and unclip and pull the ANKLE EXTENSION PIN to release the Ankle Extension Grasp the OUTRIGGER FOOT from the bottom and pull the entire Ankle Extension out until it stops; this is the MAX-EXT setting Re-insert and safety-clip the Ankle Extension Pin to lock the Outrigger Ankle Extension to MAX-EXT Once all of the pins have been re-inserted and safety-clipped, Outrigger #3 will be set at the Optimum Deployment Angle and the MAX-EXT Deployment State     Once you have locked in the Outrigger Knee, you can extend and set the Outrigger Ankle Extension. Un-clip and pull the ANKLE EXTENSION PIN out of the MINIMUM EXTENSION HOLE of the LOWER OUTRIGGER. Grasp and the OUTRIGGER FOOT from the bottom and pull the ANKLE EXTENSION out of the OUTER BOX of the Lower Outrigger until it hits the stops. Insert and safety-clip the Ankle Extension Pin through the MAX-EXT Hole to lock the Outrigger Ankle Extension into its MAX-EXT position. The Ankle Extension has multiple setting, but, it is MAX-EXT when fully extended

Pre-Deployment Steps: Set the Ankle Extension Repeat Steps 1-9 to set the SPYDERCRANE’s Deployment Pattern to Optimum and Deployment State to MAX- EXT Repeat steps 1-9 on the remaining outriggers to finish the pre-deployment Repeating Steps 1-9 for the remaining three Outriggers will set the SPYDERCRANE to the Optimum Deployment Pattern and MAX-EXT Deployment State
