My summary of the Titanic This book (Titanic by Simon Adams, an Eyewitness book) is all about the people, the events and other stuff that happened or was on the Titanic. When you read this book you’ll see photos, painted pictures, and captions of stuff that you may not know.

Fact #1 On page 8 its shows that there was more ships that were built before the Titanic was built. One of them was called Sirius. The Sirius was 700 tons and was built in Glasgow, Scotland in 1836. Another ship is the Great Eastern. The Great Eastern was built in May 1, 1854. The other ship is the Mauretania (brother of Lusitania) which was built in 1909.

Fact #2 . Page 10 shows facts about the Titanic, like when the Titanic was built in March 31, 1909. Furthermore, how tall the Titanic was, which is 300,000,000 in. (35 meters), how long it was, and that is 882.75 ft long, and how heavy it was, which is over 100 tons. It also shows when and why the Titanic sank, and what the pieces of the broken Titanic look now.

Fact #3 . In one of the captions on page 20 there were 289 firemen and stokers because the Titanic was so big. Both workers shoveled coal into the boilers to keep the ship running. On the picture couldn’t find one with all. A stoker is crew man or crew men that add coal into the fireboxes of steam boilers.

Fact #4 Page 21 shows how people were treated. They were divided by class. First class, second class, and third class. Third class was treated a lot better than others. I thinks it’s not fair, because then it would make the first and second class people feel bad and seem that those third class people are better than them.

Fact #5 Page 48 shows a bar graph showing what types of people died and survived from the collision with the iceberg. Only 214 crew members survived, but 685 crewmen died. First class people, 199 survived and 130 died. Second class, 119 survived, 166 died. Finally, for third class, 174 survived, and 536 died.

Fact #6 Page 55 shows some pictures of the “Nautile”. The Nautile was a small submarine that was really cramped, and was used to pick broken pieces of the titanic by using a robotic arm. The nautile was controlled by 2 scientists.

Fact #7 Page 54 shows a bar with depths in feet and meters of how deep the Titanic sank from the collision with the iceberg. The Titanic sank 4,000 meters deep (13,123 ft.).

Fact #8 Page 58 has a movie about the Titanic, and some articles about it. Next to the articles is a picture of a song writer named “Haydon Augarde”. Now, if you want to read this eyewitness book (Titanic) then purchase and read this awesome book.
