Construction Today you will learn: How to accurately draw shapes using only a pair of compasses, a pencil and a ruler.

Instructions 1) Draw a circle 2) Mark a starting point on the circle 3) Use your compass (keeping the same setting) to mark the next point on the edge 4) Repeat until you get back to where you started 5) Join the 6 points

Create and colour a pattern using circles Task Create and colour a pattern using circles

Draw a circle. Do not change the compass radius. Instructions Draw a circle. Do not change the compass radius. Pick any point on the circle as a centre-point, and draw another circle, the same size. Where this circle crosses the original circle, use these points as centres for new circles. Continue until the circle is surrounded by 6 other circles. Draw 3 lines, going between the opposite crossing points of your 6 outer circles, passing through the centre of the middle circle. Wherever a line or circle crosses the original circle, mark a point. These are the 12 points for your overlapping squares.
