Learning Objectives Terminal Learning Objective Without the aid of references, the student will be able to properly handle an EPW. Enabling Learning Objectives Without the aid of references or class notes, the student will be able to correctly identify the 5xS and the T of EPW handling. Without the aid of references or class notes, the student will be able to explain the rights of an EPW.

5 S’s Search/Segregate Silence Separate Safeguard

SEARCH SECRET CONFIDENTIAL Look for weapons and intelligence Common method of a field search Hands behind his head (fingers interlocked) Put EPW on his knees Search EPW from head to feet Utilize pinch pull method CONFIDENTIAL
