ACT CCRS: Reading Standards: IB Standard: MYP Language Acquisition: Criterion B: Comprehending written and visual text   At the end of the phase 1, you should be able to: identify basic facts, messages, main ideas and supporting details recognize basic aspects of format and style, and author’s purpose for writing engage with the written and visual text by identifying ideas, opinions, and attitudes and by making a personal response to the text. ACT CCRS: Reading Standards:   Central Ideas, Themes, and Summaries (IDT) 301: 19-20: Identify a clear central idea in straightforward paragraphs in somewhat challenging literary narratives. 401: 20-23: Infer a central idea in straightforward paragraphs in somewhat challenging literary narratives. Close Reading (CLR) 401: 20-23: Locate important details in somewhat challenging passages. Word Meanings and Word Choice (WME) 401: 20-23: Analyze how the choice of a specific word or phrase shapes meaning or tone in somewhat challenging passages. Text Structure (TST) 401: 20-23: Analyze how one or more sentences in somewhat challenging passages relate to the whole passage.
