Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Jesus’ Life & Ministry Jesus’ Suffering & Death Jesus’ Second Coming & Reign Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus z

God will live among his people! Zechariah 2:10 “Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the LORD. John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

The King will come into Jerusalem riding on a donkey! Matthew 21:1-2 1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

He will be sold for 30 pieces of silver . . . to buy a potter’s field! Zechariah 11:12-13 12 I told them, “If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it.” So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. 13 And the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—the handsome price at which they valued me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the potter at the house of the LORD. Matthew 26:14-15 14 Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. Matthew 27:3, 7 3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. . . . 7 So they decided to use the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners.

The Shepherd will be struck and the sheep will scatter! Zechariah 13:7 “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered,” Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ John 16:32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone.”

His body will be pierced! Zechariah 12:10 “They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” John 19:34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

He will cleanse people from their sin! Zechariah 13:1 “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.” 1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

He will come again to reign as king! z He will come again to reign as king! Zechariah 14:4-5 4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. . . . 5 Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. Zechariah 14:9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. Zechariah 9:10 He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.
