Presentation transcript:

The amount of matter in an object. MASS The amount of matter in an object.

Weight Weight is a measure of the pull of gravity on an object.

Volume The space that an object takes up as an expressed in cubic units.

Matter Anything that has mass and occupies space.

Elements organized in a table. Periodic table Elements organized in a table.

Proton A positively charged particle in the nucleus of an atom.

Saturated Combined with or containing all the solute that can be dissolved without changing the temperature.

Dilute Having little solute in a solution in comparison with the amount of solvent.

Concentrated Having a large amount of solute in a solution in comparison with the amount of solvent.

Chemical change The change of a substance into a different substance with different properties.

Physical change A change in some properties of matter without forming a different kind of matter.

Chemical equation A formula that describes a chemical reaction.

Atom The smallest particle of an element that has all the properties of the element.

Compound A substance made up of a combination of two or more elements held together by chemical bonds that cannot be separated by physical means.

Electron A negatively charged particle moving around the nucleus of an atom.

Element The basic building blocks of matter it cannot be separated into parts by chemical means.

Neutron Particle with electrical charge in the nucleus of an atom.
