Cars Without Drivers… no fear! (II Timothy 1)

“remembering the faith” (vs. 5) Refers to the story and teachings of Christ  incarnation  crucifixion  resurrection  destination

This must be passed down (unchanged) This can never be made new (changed to fit new ideas)

“remembering your faith” (vs. 5) Refers to the relationship of each believer (with God)  trust  obedience  worship  witness

This cannot be “passed down,” but can be put on display This can be “made new” and continually respond to new challenges “Fan into flame & gift of God…” (vs. 6)

As we face new challenges and engage new ideas we can take our hand off the wheel and trust God to lead us and achieve his purpose through us. We ride! God drives!

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline (vs. 7)

Remind yourself of what God has given to you! Fear grows because faith shrivels.  Power  Love  Self-Control Remind yourself of what God has given to you!
