NOTES: Plant vs Animal Cells

NOTES: Plant vs Animal Cells A rigid layer of cellulose outside the cell membrane that gives the plant and the cell, structure, and support. Cell Wall Large Central Vacuole An organelle found in plant cells that stores mainly water (cell sap) this helps create pressure that inflates the cell. Many small vacuoles Organelles found in animal cells that store food, water and waste. Chloroplasts An organelle found in plant cells that capture the sun’s energy and convert the light energy into chemical energy Chlorophyll A green pigment found in chloroplasts that help trap the sun’s energy. Photosynthesis A process that plants use to convert the sun’s energy into sugars that the plant can use Lysosomes Organelles only found in animal cells that break down and digest food particles and worn out cell parts.
