Reading Strategies 7. Read a paragraph, a few sentences or a short passage then → reflect → try to understand the main idea → sometimes re-read 8. Some things to think about → main characters → setting (situation) → conflict → resolution 9. Pay attention to verbs because they can reveal… → what the action is → who is responsible for the action → when the action takes place 10. Take notes & notice series of events 11. Look at any questions that you have to answer first
