Workshop on Adolescence Education District Teacher Education and Research Directorate in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Aids Control Organization conducted a workshop on Adolescence Education for teachers and students from all the schools in the district. Ms Revathi, of the department of life Science and Mr. Suresh of the department of English represented the teachers of Yuvabharathi Public School. The workshop focused on the urgent need for sensitizing the younger generation on life skills such as Empathy, problem solving, interpersonal relationships and so on. The participants were involved in a series of activities related to imparting the students in adolescence the knowledge of life skills which would naturally prepare them for a harmonious and disciplined life. The Overseas Educational Trip to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, carried out by the Professional Development Wing of the Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre of Ministry of Education, Singapore visited us on Dec 8 th The objectives were as follows: a. to gain a better understanding and insight on the teaching and learning practices of Tamil Language(TL) in Coimbatore b. to explore on how the experiences gained can be adapted to their teaching and learning in Singapore c. to source for appropriate and relevant educational resources for teaching and learning of Tamil Language in Singapore. A team comprising 16 delegates from the Ministry of Education of Singapore visited Yuvabharathi Public School on the 8 th of December. The school gave the delegates a red carpet welcome. They were treated to a variety of colourful and impressive programmes which showcased the history and heritage of Tamil language. The delegates also observed the methods and pattern adopted by our teachers in the teaching of Tamil language and literature. Click
