Add IP Address ( Interfaces, DNS, Route, Gateway ) Step 7 : Add IP Address ( Interfaces, DNS, Route, Gateway )
The firewall may interfere with the vmware connection with the adsl modem and internal network. To avoid interruptions, please disable your firewall temporarily.
LAN Interface : IP : 192.168.10.4/24 Network : 192.168.10.0 Routes Settings : Add a new Route Dst. Address : 0.0.0.0/0 Gateway : 192.168.1.1 WAN Interface : IP : 192.168.1.12/24 Network : 192.168.1.0 DNS Settings : Servers : 192.168.1.1 ( ADSL Modem IP ) Allow Remote Requests : Enable What does the 24 mean after an IP address? It's called CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) notation. The number after the slash represents the number of consecutive 1's in the subnet mask. For example, 192.168.10.0/24 is equal to the network 192.168.10.0 with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.
