Presentation transcript:

Hello! Today you need… Your reading comp. book. Your reading log. Everything else on the floor.

Overall The majority of you had all of the assignments listed in the first box. Well done! Many of you made major improvements in annotating. I was impressed. 98% turned in on time!!! The average score was 47/50 (94% = A) The large majority of you are reading great books.

What Emerged During Scoring Entry: What did you learn? How does this entry show learning? Some pretty sloppy, last minute books writes that were an embarrassment to the Spectrum program. Decline in legibility scores. Still 3-4 page summaries. Some still this long and never indented. This is not summarizing!! “Chapter” is not a genre. Look at anchor chart. Use the book write directions to guide you in your book write. No annotations, no grade. And I’m not accepting the 8-10 that you made up after reading the book. Way too common: “My annotations helped me to better understand the story” or “I did more _______ than _____ so next time I’ll have to do more _____.” Look at the anchor chart

And Finally…… Look at the titles of your book writes and add them to your Table of Contents right now.

Turn to the next available page in your comp. book Put today’s date on the first line on the upper left-hand side of the paper Title it Reading Reflection #14 Add it to your Table of Contents

Copy and complete the following sentences: When I look at the 2nd quarter score for my comp. book, I feel….. I feel this way because……. If I had another chance, I would….. Next quarter, I plan to….. (When finished: Tape the rubric and your reading log on the left hand side.)
