Three Speaker Fears Audience too many people, too few, grading you, judging you… Message not clear, not long enough, too long, not enough research… Self past experiences, expect too much…

Dealing with Psychological Aspect - put speaking situation into perspective - its only about 5 minutes, wont make or break you… - your favorite song is probably longer than your speech - in life, no one will really care what grade you got on this speech - examine/deal with fears of audience, message and self - if you havent researched enough, do more research, make it clearer, cut it down… - change mental attitude - Dont look at speech giving as a chore – its an OPPORTUNITY (You get to teach us about something - a captive audience. How cool is that?)

Dealing with Physical Aspect - release excess energy - exercise, stretch, sing some favorite music… - maintain everyday diet - dont overdue caffeine, avoid foods that upset your system, eat if you normally eat…
