Phil 3: 12-16 Nov. 12, 2017

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ,

….and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-- the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.  Phil. 3:7-10

Forget what is behind.

Not that I have already attained or arrived at my goal. A godly dissatisfaction is needed – I keep pressing on, I want to do my very best for Christ.

I press on I Press On I press on

To take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

To take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. NLT

I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.

One thing I do

One thing I do

Forgetting what is behind

Forgetting what is behind “We break the power of the past by living for the future.” “We cannot change the past, but we can change the meaning of the past.” Warren Wiersbe

Straining toward what is ahead

Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. I cor. 9:24

I press on toward the goal to win the prize

Real challenges in your life -Temptations to sin - Children - Health - Finances - Employment - Family - Marriage - Hidden Fears - Jealousy - Loneliness - Discipline - Courage -Decisions to make

Keep going. Don’t quit. Press on!!

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

All of us who are mature should take such a view of things

If on some point you think differently…….

Live up to what we have already attained.
