What was the League of Nations? Part of all the WW1 peace treaties including Treaty of Versailles. It was the idea of the American President Woodrow Wilson. US Congress stopped them joining. Germany was not allowed to join. Its aim was to manage world peace through economic sanctions and possible military action. Without the USA the League struggled to resolve disputes between bigger powers.

If I got 9 out 9 marks then I was also able to explain how Stresemann’s action might have or did have a negative impact on the Weimar Republic; such as the short term success of the Dawes Plan, but it’s longer term consequences after the Wall Street Crash. If I got 7 or 8 marks then I need to begin thinking about other factors which could be of relevance to the question, such as WHAT ELSE was responsible for Weimar’s recovery or how good were Stresemann’s solutions? If I got 9 marks then I can congratulate myself and use this work to look back to for help with writing my next practice exam question.
