DISCOVERY TABLE THIS AREA PRESENTS THE CHILD WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE PROPERTIES AND RELATIONSHIPS OF OBJECTS AND MATERIALS AND ENABLES HIM TO LEARN CONCEPTS. ONLY ONE CONCEPT SHOULD BE REPRESENTED AT A TIME AND HOME –MADE GAMES ARE BEST SUITED FOR THIS PURPOSE. DISPLAYS MUST BE BRIGHT, BOLD AND CLEAR. THEY MUST BE LOGICALLY PRESENTED SO THAT THE CHILD CAN INTERPRET THE TABLE. THE TEACHER SHOULD FOCUS THE CHILDS ATTENTION AND DIRECT HIS INVESTIGATION TO ENSURE THAT HE MAKES A CRITICAL, IN DEPTH STUDY. AN OVERALL THEME SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED BEFORE INDIVIDUAL TOPICS ARE SELECTED. THE TEACHER SHOULD COLLECT NECESSARY MATERIALS AHEAD OF FROM PARENTS,LIBRARIES AND COMMUNITY. THE WORK LOAD MAY BE SHARED WITH A COLLEGUE. THEMES ON A WELL PLANNED OUTING WHICH PROVIDES DIRECT EXPERIENCE AND OBSERVATION. PARENTS MAY ASSIST WITH OBSERVATION AND WORKSHEETS.
