ACT ASPIRE UNDERSTANDING 2014-2015 visit www.discoveractaspire.org for more information and to watch a video for students and parents.

ACT Aspire covers 5 content areas: English Math Reading Science Direct writing at all grades.

Information on the Reports You can also see how a child is doing in combined subject areas such as English language arts (ELA) science and math (STEM). The report also shows how s student performed in specific skill areas within each subject. Finally, you can see how scores compare to those of other students who have taken ACT Aspire.

Aligned with the existing ACT College Readiness Benchmarks 3 year rolling norms.. It will change as the test grows. Baseline was set in 2013-2014

See Handout For each subject taken, you will see a three- digit score. Your score for each subject will fall into one of three levels: Ready Close In Need of Support. The level your score falls into indicates how you did in meeting certain standards or “benchmarks.”

Levels and Benchmark Your score for each subject will fall into one of three levels: Ready Close In Need of Support The level your score falls into indicates how you did in meeting certain standards or “benchmarks.” There is an “Exceeding” area that divides the Ready into two parts

Benchmark Scores Grade English Reading Mathematics Science Writing 3 413 415 413 418 428 4 417 417 416 420 428

SUPPLEMENTAL SCORES ELA combined score, which averages your English, Reading, and Writing test scores • STEM combined score, which averages your Science and Mathematics test scores • Progress with Text Complexity indicator, which identifies whether you are making sufficient progress toward reading the complex texts you will encounter as you further your education and work toward college and career

National Percentile Your score for each subject is also associated with a National Percentile Rank that shows how your score compares to other students who tested in 2013 and 2014. In figure 4, the score report shows “78th” next to the sample student’s English score. This means that the sample student scored as high as or higher than 78% of students in the national comparison group. The bar graph helps you see which of your scores are strongest and weakest relative to other students.

Our students will be taking all areas of the test. Here is more information about each test.
