Engineering Notebook and Awards

What is The Engineering Notebook The engineering notebook is a documentation of the team’s robot design and records the time spent doing research, outreach, team meetings, and plans for growth. Team’s journey throughout the season.

What should be included Sketches Discussions and team meetings Design evolution Software development Processes, obstacles Each team member’s thoughts throughout the journey for the entire season

All of the awards to advance to states REQUIRE an Engineering Notebook!!

Engineering Notebooks will NOT be considered without the following information.

The Team Number MUST appear on the outside front cover of the Engineering Notebook.

Other Required Sections Attached Summary Page to the front cover. Must be divided into sections Engineering Sections (Required) Team Sections (Required) Outreach Activities (Required - can be combined with team section) Business plan (optional – Inspire Award, Connect Award, Motivate Award) Strategic plan (optional – Inspire Award, Connect Award, Motivate Award) Sustainability plan (optional )

Summary Page A brief, one-page narrative about the Team, the school or organization, and an overview of the highlights of the Team’s season. The summary page must point the Judges to pages in the Engineering Notebook that the Team would most like the Judges to consider. Summary narrative page should be used as a way to impress the Judges without the team being in the room.
