Region At least one unifying feature such as climate, landforms, population, or history. Regions can vary in size Have Boundaries Atlanta Metropolitan Area Cultural Regions Economic Regions Political Regions Physical Regions

Location Absolute Relative Exact spot on the earth An address Longitude and Latitude Relative Position of a place in relation to another place Direction, distance, or time Example: Miami is about 670 miles from Atlanta

Interaction How humans and the environment affect each other. Our survival depends on our interaction with the environment. We must change or adapt to our environment. Example: If you live in a flood zone, you may build a house on stilts

Place Physical features Human features Coastlines and landforms Lakes, rivers, and types of soil Lake Lanier, Stone Mountain Human features Human additions or deletions from an area Examples: Pyramids, Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower
