Athenian vs. American Democracy LTD What are some pros of Athenian democracy? Some cons? What are some pros of American democracy? Some cons? Compare and contrast the judicial system of both democracies. Has the United States always been a true representative democracy? Why do you think there are still inequalities in democracies? Can we solve this problem? What are the qualities of a good leader? How important is it to have a good leader in a democracy? Which form of democracy (direct or representative) do you feel was more effective? Would you prefer to live under American or Athenian democracy? Do you feel democracy is the best system of government? Why or why not? Do you feel that the United States and other democratic countries have the right and/or duty to set up democratic governments in other countries? Why or why not?
