Presentation transcript:

The AVENUE of God’s Peace “through our Lord Jesus Christ” (5:1) True peace comes only “through” Jesus Christ and His cross (5:8-21) Jesus’ peace is not from or likened to the world’s peace (John 14:27) Jesus’ peace is independent of worldly circumstance (John 16:33) Jesus truly is the “Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6)

The BESTOWAL of God’s Peace “having been justified by faith” (5:1) Justification is a legal/judicial term Sin = transgressing the law (1 John 3:4) Transgressing  guilty & deserving of death (Rom. 6:23) By God’s grace  can be free from that guilt (Rom. 3:23-26) Pronounced “justified” (i.e., “Not guilty” & free from sin): Upon “faith” (Rom. 3:22, 25, 26) That “obeys” Christ’s pattern of teaching (6:17-18, 3-4)

The BESTOWAL of God’s Peace “having been justified by faith” (5:1) If you are a New Testament Christian: You no longer bear the guilt of ANY sin! God has forgiven you of ALL past sins! God remembers your sins no more (Heb. 8:12)! You “have peace with God”!

The CONSTANCY of God’s Peace “we have access… into this grace” (5:2) By faithful living, we have continual and abiding access: To God Himself (Eph. 2:18; 3:12) To His throne (Heb. 4:14) To His continual grace and forgiveness (Rom. 5:2; cf. 1 Jn. 1:7)

Is the Peace of God Ruling in Your Heart Today? Believe Jesus is God’s Son – John 8:24 Repent of your sins and turn to God – Luke 13:3 Confess your faith in Jesus – Matthew 10:32 Be immersed into Christ – Mark 16:16 God will forgive you of all sins – Acts 2:38 God will add you to His church – Acts 2:47 God will enroll you in heaven – Hebrews 12:23 Faithfully walk with Him each day – 1 John 1:7
