The cross section of an ear of corn … … the foundation crop of the U.S. It represents unity since it is grown in all states.

The eagle... …is our national symbol.

The rising sun... … represents progress, a new day.

The plow... ...symbolizes labor and tillage of the soil.

The owl... … represents wisdom and knowledge.
