South America South America lies below North America. South America has 12 countries. The largest country is Brazil. The Amazon River is on this continent. It is the 2nd longest river in the world!

Europe Europe is another continent in our world. It has 50 countries, but is the 2nd smallest continent. Several explorers came from Europe to explore North and South America.

Africa Africa lies below Europe. It has 54 countries. The Nile River is on the African continent. It is the longest river in the world. Africa is also the hottest continent in the world.

Asia Asia is the largest continent in the world. It has 48 countries. The population is over 4 billion! The world’s highest peak lies on the border of China and Nepal-Mount Everest.

Australia Australia is known as the land down under. It has only 3 countries, Australia being one of them. Here lies the Great Barrier Reef, which is the world’s largest coral reef system.
