Heat Transfer
Conduction Transfer of energy (as heat) between particles as they collide within a substance or between two objects.
Conduction It is heat transfer between 2 objects in direct contact. Materials that conduct heat well are called conductors. Ex. Metals Materials that resist the transfer of heat are called insulators. Ex. Styrofoam, wood, paper, plastic
Cold is just the absence of heat. Conduction Cold is just the absence of heat.
Convection Transfer of energy by the movement of fluids (can be liquid or gas) with different temperatures
Convection Warm fluids become less dense and rise, then they cool and sink. It works the same way for sea breezes.
Radiation Transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves
