04-21 Fire Police

04-21 Fire Police Any member wishing to become a member of the Fire Police shall obtain the NYS OFPC training class titled “Fire Police” during their 1st year of membership, if class is available. The new member shall also be registered with NYS DCJS.

04-21 Fire Police The below list of duties shall be performed: Fire Police shall respond with due regard, and in accordance with NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law, keeping their personal vehicles out of harms way.

04-21 Fire Police Ensuring the safe arrival of fire apparatus and other authorized vehicles by controlling traffic at or near a scene, drill, or Fire Company event. Establishing fire lines, where necessary and feasible, to keep unauthorized persons from interfering with emergency operations and to protect emergency personnel, apparatus, and spectators.

04-21 Fire Police In the event flares must be used near an incident to control traffic, the Fire Police personnel will check with the Incident Commander (IC) to make sure the area is clear of any possible ignition hazards. Protecting apparatus or other authorized vehicles on scene with traffic cones or other warning devices.

04-21 Fire Police Cooperating with Police Agencies on scene and following their order if they are not in conflict with those of the IC or his/her designee. Mutual Aid Calls: Locate mutual aid Fire Police Officer and ask what assignment they need done from our responding Fire Police.

04-21 Fire Police All Brunswick Fire Company No. 1 Fire Police members shall wear their issued five (5) point Traffic Safety Vest on any street, road, highway, and vehicle parking areas. All Brunswick Fire Company No. 1 Fire Police members shall wear their Fire Company issued safety clothing at calls, drills, and any other function where it may be required.
