DMV Math Tournament Hosted by RLC PTO Math Coordinators

What is the DMV Math Tournament? The word DMV stands for DC, Maryland, and Virginia states. The DMV Math Tournament is a MOEMS based (but not same as MOEMS) competition to be held on April 27, 2019 at RLC Cafeteria.

Who can participate in this Tournament? All the 4th and 5th grade (elementary schools or homeschooled) students in DC, Maryland, and Virginia states are eligible to participate in this Tournament.

Format of the Tournament DMV Math Tournament consists of three rounds and an awards ceremony: Individual Round: Each student works alone on 10 timed short-answer problems (30 minutes).  Team Round: All team members work cooperatively on another 10 timed short-answer problems (20 minutes).   Playoff/Tiebreaker Round: Up to five additional problems with time constraints to break ties for awards. No calculators are allowed.

Team Formation: Teams will include a maximum of 5 students and a Coach. The team could be formed with mixed grade students of 4th and 5th grades, however, the team would be recognized according to the higher-grade student in the team. For example, if a team has even one student from 5th grade, the team would be considered as a 5th grade team and would fall under the 5th grade team category. Please use the following URL if you are looking for an additional team member, a team, and/or a coach. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Rx-T2ZzEbH6JDoJov0zPsdZKK4b4x3- jVInDOMr2s9U/edit?usp=sharing

Early Registration: $125 per team if registering by January 31, 2019. Regular Registration: $150 per team if registered by March 15, 2019. Late Registration: $175 per team if registered by April 12, 2019.  Registration URL: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfF6kRhqWoiV88whtEEKhxyp1Gp xj9W9K-Gy5Zes3CrQpMvhg/viewform
