“HEALTHY” UNEMPLOYMENT RATE 2 3 *As the graph clearly indicates, the labor force participation rate has decreased for the last 15 years. This is troublesome as it’s ability to produce will likely decrease as more baby boomers retire. At the same time, Germany has a very young population which is continuously entering the workforce and thus, increase it’s labor force. 4
