Microscope Intro Honors Bio

Making a wet mount slide Obtain a clean slide and coverslip Obtain a specimen and place it on the slide Add a drop of water on top of the specimen Place the coverslip on top of the slide as shown in the diagram. This will help reduce air bubbles.

FIRST Obtain a microscope and carry it to your lab station using one hand on the arm and one hand on the base. That’s __________ HANDS!

THEN… Make sure the _______ power objective is the one in position for viewing. That is, it is the one pointing straight down at the stage. Also make sure that the __________ is __________ as far as it can go.

Don’t forget the obvious… Plug the microscope in and turn it on.
