we currently need 1.7 earths to meet the demands we are making on our planet

but we only have one planet If all people lived like the average Australian we would need resources from more than 5 planets If everyone on earth had the consumption patterns of an average Australian, we would need more than four and a half planets to support us. If we lived like the average North American we would need five planets. However, we do know that it is possible to increase our quality of life while reducing our impacts to a One Planet level. One Planet Program living within earths resources One Planet Living is an international framework and leadership program provided by Bioregional. We identify ways with which you can reduce your ecological footprint while supporting local economies, community, health and wellbeing. Bioregional provides public recognition of national and international leadership annually. The One Planet Program provides a process for the: One Planet Analysis development of actions and strategies in the One Planet Action Plan monitoring and reporting of actions and strategies Reference BedZED publication on living in a One Planet Community in a three planet world living within earths resources
