Unit 11 Tips

Where Are We Going? It might occur sometimes that an airplane doesn’t go to its scheduled destination, but instead gets diverted to another place. There are many reasons why this might happen. Perhaps bad weather conditions make it difficult for the captain to land the plane, or a bird has struck the plane, causing an emergency landing. Sometimes, planes must land unexpectedly due to passengers’ problems. Passengers with medical emergencies may need to be sent to a hospital immediately. Passengers that have had too much to drink and are behaving violently may need to be sent to authorities. Even though a situation might not appear to be an emergency, it is inevitable sometimes to make the decision to divert the plane or to make an emergency landing for the safety and benefit of everyone onboard.
