A crisis may affect family members in different ways. There are many positive strategies you can use to cope with changes. Drug Addiction Both illegal and prescription drugs can be addictive. The effects of substance abuse can cause crises in families. Prevention is the best solution to drug abuse. crisis A situation that has reached a critical phase.

Violence in the Home Abuse can be directed toward any family member and can be emotional or physical. There is no excuse for abuse.

Emotional abuse includes threats, rejection, isolation, and corruption. The wrong or harmful treatment of someone’s emotional health.

Physical abuse includes neglect, or failing to meet the needs of children or disabled adults. A form of abuse, occurring when people fail to meet the needs of those in their care by ignoring their responsibilities to them.

Abuse is a cycle that will continue within the family until someone seeks help. Someone who is abused can benefit from professional help, often available within the community. Immediate action must be taken when a person is abused or neglected

Addicts may steal from others to support their addictions, or hurt others while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Family support is essential when dealing with addictive behaviors. There is no excuse for domestic violence. Abuse can do long-term damage to any member of a family. Seek professional help if you or anyone you know is suffering from physical or emotional abuse.
