Pre-AP Extra Credit Music Video Directions: Use the revising and editing task cards below to rewrite the song, “Issues” by Julia Michaels. Because this is not a grade, it is “extra,” there is no rubric and you are free to be as creative in your lyrics as you would like. Due Next Friday To earn the extra credit, videos must be quality, no more than 4 people to a group, and each member must actively participate. Have fun!

Word Choice Ideas & Content Does the writer have high-quality descriptive words? Does the writer use descriptive phrases that paint vivid images? Does the writer use slang when they should not? Does the overall language feel natural? Ideas & Content Does the writer stay on topic? Is the topic narrow enough to be informative and specific? Does the writer “show” instead of “tell?” Does the writer provide specific details, information, and examples?

Organization: Fluency: Does the introduction grab the reader’s attention? Is the structure organized in a way that is clear? Does the final paragraph effectively conclude? Do the details in each paragraph contribute to the essay? Is the sentence length varied? Are any words repeated throughout? Is the sentence-to-sentence transition smooth when read aloud? Do any words need to be removed?

Voice Conventions: Did the writer achieve a personal sound? Does the writer use a specific attitude/tone? Does the writing speak from the heart? Does the writer use emotion to appeal to the audience? Did the writer indent paragraphs? Did the writer use proper capitalization and punctuation? Did the writer spell correctly? Did the writer use correct grammar?
