A. SAFETY AND HEALTH Further, employees shall not come to work in an impaired or intoxicated state or abuse drugs or alcohol on company premises, nor shall employees bring to work alcoholic beverages or illegal narcotic substances.

B. DISCRIMINATORY HARASSMENT The law prohibits employees in the workplace from engaging in certain types of discriminatory harassment and U. S. Steel Košice will not tolerate any act of discrimination harassment. An employee must not engage in any threatening, intimidating or hostile activity, or use epithets or slurs that relate to race, color, religion, gender, sexual preference, citizenship, physical or mental disability, national origin, age, veteran status, disability or political opinion

C. SEXUAL HARASSMENT Sexual harassment in the workplace is expressly prohibited by U. S. Steel Košice. It will not be tolerated. U. S. Steel Košice does not condone sexual harassment whether committed by U. S. Steel Košice employees or by employees of vendors, suppliers, contractors and/or customers; such persons will be subject to appropriate corrective action for violations. As with all types of discriminatory harassment, the individual violator may be found liable

D. ENVIRONMENTAL An employee is responsible for understanding the environmental consequences of his or her job and performing it in an environmentally safe manner.

E. ANTITRUST Antitrust laws are intended to preserve independent competition among competitors and prohibit activities that are unreasonable restraints of trade. Certain types of restraints are always considered to be illegal and employees must be alert to avoid even the appearance of such conduct.

F. PROTECTION AND PROPER USE OF CORPORATE ASSETS; FRAUDULENT OR DECEPTIVE PRACTICES; FAIR DEALING All employees must protect U. S. Steel Košice´s assets and ensure their efficient use. All company assets must be used for legitimate business purposes, in a manner consistent with corporate policy. Employees must not participate in any fraudulent or deceptive activities involving U. S. Steel Košice, its customers, suppliers, contractors, coworkers, or anyone else with whom U. S. Steel Košice associates or does business.

G. POLITICAL CAMPAIGN MATTERS Involving the reputation, interests or property of U. S. Steel Košice in the support of any particular political party or political movement shall not be acceptable. Nor is it permitted to engage in political activity in the work place.

H. GOVERNMENTAL CONTACTS Contacts by U. S. Steel Košice with government officials and personnel, both in this country and elsewhere, must be conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and in such a way as to avoid even the appearance of impropriety. U. S. Steel Košice seeks to develop and maintain good relationships and effective communication with officials at all levels of government.

I. FOREIGN GOVERNMENTAL CONTACTS U. S. Steel Košice has strict rules regarding any and all contacts by U. S. Steel Košice with officials of foreign states, or officials of companies owned in whole or in part by foreign governments.

J. MISUSE OF CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION; INSIDER TRADING It is the policy of U. S. Steel Košice to maintain the confidential treatment of its financial, operating and other corporate information, and to prohibit the misuse of any such information obtained during employment. Employees must maintain the confidentiality of information entrusted to them by U. S. Steel Košice, except when disclosure is authorized or legally mandated.

K. SOFTWARE COPYRIGHTS Employees must not reproduce or copy software, which is protected by copyright, unless appropriate authorization has been obtained. The law provides protection to owners of copyrights to prevent unauthorized copying of their works in any material form including computer software, unless the owners agree otherwise. Unauthorized copying of computer software can create significant liability for U. S. Steel Košice, as well as personal criminal liability for an employee in the case of willful infringement for profit.

M. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST A conflict may exist when an employee, or a member of the employees family (spouse, parents, brothers, sisters or children of the employee or the employees spouse) directly or indirectly: a) owns or engages in the same or similar kind of business in which U. S. Steel Košice engages, or b) owns a significant beneficial interest in a competitor or concern which does or seeks to do business with U. S. Steel Košice.

3. Gifts and Entertainment U. S. Steel Košice Policy limits the acceptance by employees of gifts and/or entertainment from anyone having or seeking a business relationship with the Company. Policy guidelines have been developed which identify the type and establish the value of gifts and/or entertainment, which may be accepted by an employee without supervisor approval.

V. COMPLIANCE This Code reflects general principles to guide employees in making ethical decisions and is not intended to address every specific situation. As such, nothing in this Code prohibits or restricts U.S. Steel Košice from taking any disciplinary action on any matter pertaining to employee conduct, whether or not it is expressly discussed in this Code. This Code may be revised, changed or amended at any time by the President of U.S. Steel Košice.

VI. ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING Administration of this Code is under the direction of the President of U. S. Steel Košice. An employee must report any suspected illegal or unethical conduct connected with or affecting the business of U. S. Steel Košice or its affiliated companies. Such a good faith report should be made to the U. S. Steel Košice Office of the General Counsel or to the Ethics Hotline telephone number.
