RELIEF The relief of FYROM is characterized by large and high mountain massifs giving way to extensive, flat valleys and plains. The valleys are interconnected by low passes or deep ravines, such as those of Derven, Taor, Veles, Demir Kapija and Ciganska Klisura on river Vardar, and Kresna and Rupel on river Strumica. Macedonia is a predominantly mountainous country. Macedonia's high mountains are suitable for winter sports and hunting. http://www.worldmapfinder.org/map/ro_121977.html http://makedonija.name/land/macedonia-relief

FYROM AND the EU EU member country : FYROM negotiate for entry into the European Union Currency:  Macedonian denar(MKD) FYROM was identified as a potential candidate for EU membership during the Thessaloniki European Council summit in 2003.  Its Stabilisation and Association Agreement is in force since 2004, the first in the region. It applied for EU membership in March 2004 and the Council decided in December 2005 to grant the country candidate status, based on the Commission’s favorable opinion. Since October 2009, the Commission has recommended to open accession negotiations with the country, until 2015 when it made this conditional on continued implementation of the Pržino agreement and substantial progress in the implementation of the "Urgent Reform Priorities“. https://europa.eu/european-union/about-eu/countries/member-countries/ http://ec.europa.eu/enlargement/countries/detailed-country-information/former-yugoslav-republic-of- macedonia/index_en.htm

DAILY LIFE IN FYROM Domestic Unit. „ The traditional unit is extended family consisting of a married couple, their unmarried daughters, and their sons with their own spouses and children. This is becoming increasingly less common in urban areas. Children tend to live with their parents until they are married”. http://www.everyculture.com/Ja-Ma/Macedonia.html#ixzz4Rrbl6z6L

Child Rearing and Education Child Rearing and Education. „ Children are looked after by their mothers, grandmothers, neighbors, or older siblings. Children play freely at an early age. Boys are expected to be more active than girls. In urban areas there are also nursery schools and kindergartens. Eight-year elementary education is compulsory.” Higher Education. „ Society places a high value on higher education, but ethnic minorities are under-represented. Approximately 87 percent of those holding university degrees are ethnic Macedonians” http://www.everyculture.com/Ja-Ma/Macedonia.html#ixzz4RraqA7th
